About the Artist – Bill GorskyBill Gorsky has owned and operated two successful woodworking businesses and has been creating custom wood, stone and glass designs for 35 years. Bill has been the sole proprietor of Gorsky Designs, Inc. since 1992. Projects include high-end furniture both commercial and residential, custom design and fabrication of architectural and spiritual art and specialized furnishings. From his studio at 9,500 feet in the Rocky Mountains, Bill Gorsky creates lasting pieces of beauty, a personal legacy for more than a quarter century. His state-of-the-art studio sits among the conifer and aspen trees, surrounded by national forest lands in Silver Plume, Colorado, part of the National Historic District celebrating Colorado’s mining history. Bill is a master wood carver whose commissioned work includes tabernacles, alters, ambos, baptismal fonts and full-round sculptures of Christ. Bill has strong engineering skills and has faced and solved many engineering challenges for his clients. He has experience working with budgets from large to small and with committees as part of faith communities. Bill also paints and draws. He is committed to solution-based designs and has familiarity with many period styles. Bill’s spiritual path includes six years in the seminary and many years as a Buddhist practitioner. He is a scholar in many of the world’s mystical religions. Bill was a mining geologist before dedicating himself full-time to his artistic career. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Youngstown State University as well as graduate studies in Geology at Kent State University.
